Rolle House

Rolle House is a registered Therapeutic Children’s Home specialising in caring for children and young people aged between 5 and 17 years who are Deaf or hard of hearing and have complex needs.

We offer four placements at any one time. Each placement is appropriately assessed, matched and an impact risk assessment process carried out to ensure the safety and success of not only each placement, but the service. This ensures the best possible outcomes for all young people placed with us.

Statement of Purpose

Meet the Team

Sarah Harding, Manager

Hello, my name is Sarah Harding, and I am the Registered Manager at Rolle House.

I live in Exmouth with my partner and King Charles Cavalier dog named Billy who often comes to work with me. I have three grown up children of my own and two grandchildren whom I enjoy spending time with.

I love all animals especially horses and dogs and love spending time outdoors in nature.  I enjoy spending time at the beach, and I love a cup of tea.

I love my job and enjoy working with young people and watching them grow and achieve.

Connie Webb, Deputy Manager

My name is Connie, and I am the Deputy Manager of Rolle House.

I live in Exmouth where I grew up and attended school.

I enjoy being outdoors and especially getting in the sea!

I love learning and my position at Rolle House lets me do that every day! I love seeing the progress of our amazing young people and feel honoured that I get to support them on their transition to adulthood.

James Heaver, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Responsible Individual

My name is James and I am the Responsible Individual for Rolle House. This means I make sure that children who live there are safe, well looked after and have a great time! I have worked with Deaf Children for 15 years and love working at the Deaf Academy!

I live in Exeter and have two children who are 10 and 8 years old. In my spare time I like spending time with my children, friends and family and being outdoors having fun.

I also really like going to the cinema, but Disney films often make me cry!

“The manager’s positive parenting style is having a significant impact on children’s progress and well-being.”

“Children are making significant progress from their starting points. Children who have previously struggled with their environments due to their complex needs and limited communication are now thriving. They are supported to achieve and to enjoy just being children.”

I’ve really connected with the Deaf young people here and I’ve forgotten all about IT now! I’ve fully embraced working here.

There are lots of benefits to the training and I think it’s really worth it for me, working here.
