Residential Care Worker – Calum

Residential care worker Calum

Tell us about your role at the Deaf Academy?

I joined in January 2023 as a Residential Care Worker. I am Deaf and I am supporting and providing activities for our residential students.

How do you find commuting from Bristol?

I live in Bristol, so have been commuting to Exmouth. I find the commute fine, as I come in on Wednesday and sleep in until Friday, making the travel very manageable.

How has the job made a difference to you?

Working here has improved my confidence. It’s so inspiring to help Deaf Academy students develop and grow their Deaf identity.

Working here makes you feel like you are included and part of a team that look out for each other and help each other as much as they can.
