We’re incredibly proud of all our students for their performances at our recent Exeter Phoenix show.

Together with PaddleBoat Theatre Company, they have been working on a secret play over the past week, which staff and parents were finally able to watch this afternoon!

The play was fully acted in BSL by our students, and interpreted into English by our in-house interpreter. The action takes place on the SS Mystery, where there has been a murder – but who is the culprit? Our heroes, a pair of hapless detectives, must solve the crime and find out who killed Mr X…

Students from across the Academy took part, and we’re so impressed by all of them for their contributions both on and off stage – from learning their lines and delivering amazing acting, to supporting each other and creating costumes.

We would also like to thank our brilliant Teaching Assistants and the fantastic team from Paddleboat for all their hard work over the past week, as well as all the parents, families and governors who battled through the snow to come and watch – and of course to Exeter Phoenix for hosting us.
