Admissions

Our admissions process is slightly different to a mainstream school. But that’s because we specialise in the extraordinary. At the Deaf Academy, we offer a fantastic environment to learn, grow and develop independence for young people with a range of different abilities and challenges.

We’re a unique place, specialising in the support of Deaf children and young people who also have multiple or complex additional needs – including multi-sensory impairment, autism and physical disabilities. Every student is treated as unique and individual – an ethos which is demonstrated through tailored learning pathways, to ensure all of our students are studying in the way that is right for them, in a language-rich environment of English and British Sign Language. Our brand-new home in Exmouth allows us to do that with some of the best state-of-the-art facilities and Deaf-friendly learning spaces in Europe.

We will be with you throughout the admissions process to advise you, answer any questions, and support you and your family. Our friendly admissions team and Mark Stocks, Assistant Principal will be in regular contact to keep you updated as the process progresses.

We work closely with local authorities during the admissions process. If you decide the Deaf Academy is the right school for you, and we meet your needs, we will ask permission to make an offer of place to your Local Authority.

If you would like to contact our admissions team please email admissions@thedeafacademy.ac.uk or fill in the form below.

Please fill out the form with as much information as you can and we will contact you via email or telephone.

Thank you
