In maths, we participated in RSPB’s Big School’s Birdwatch. Years 7 – 9 had the opportunity of going outside and counting different types of birds on the Deaf Academy grounds. We counted different birds ranging from Magpies to Robins. All the year groups found it difficult to sneak up and grab a close up look to check it was the right species of bird. The tally charts were counted and submitted to the Big School’s Birdwatch where the data will be collated and used as a national statistic. It’s been a pleasure to take part in something bigger than just our own small community.
