Throughout 2016, Princesshay has worked with us on events and fundraising activities. This included a car raffle in partnership with Mercedes-Benz of Exeter, sponsoring our football team’s kit and taking part in The City to Sea Marathon, a challenging 26.5-mile route from Exeter to Babbacombe Downs in Torquay.

We are delighted to announce that this charity partnership with Princesshay has raised a fantastic £18,224.79. 100% of the proceeds from the raffle will go towards purchasing specialist sensory and audiology equipment, supporting families of Deaf students with British Sign Language workshops, as well as projects to help Deaf young people at Exeter Deaf Academy reach their full potential.

Throughout the year, an army of 80 Exeter Deaf Academy volunteers gave 1000 hours of their time to sell 6000 raffle tickets from the charity’s stand in Princesshay.

The car raffle draw took place on Christmas Eve with Mercedes-Benz of Exeter donating a shiny new Mercedes A-Class as the prize. Congratulations to Mr J Moore who had the winning ticket number 03415! We hope that the winner enjoys their fantastic prize and thanks to all those who bought a ticket.

Rosie Martin, Fundraiser, said: “A huge thank you to the whole team at Princesshay and Mercedes- Benz of Exeter for their help and efforts this year. We feel it has been an incredible opportunity for us to raise awareness in the City as well as vital funds to help us change the lives of Deaf young people.”
