Do you remember Rachel Goswell’s tour tambourine, which she auctioned to raise money for the Academy? The money raised went towards refurbishing our courtyard into an amazing new sensory garden, and during the week we put the finishing touches to it! It’s looking beautiful – a big thanks to Rachel for coming along to help us with digging and planting.
The sensory garden is located in the courtyard next to our school dining hall. We have planted lots of new flowers and plants, bringing bright colours and amazing smells into the space.
There is also new furniture for the students to enjoy, as well as lots of decorative elements like bunting, pinwheel flowers and wind chimes.
We are really grateful to everyone who has contributed time and resources to this space over the years.
(The very last photo below is a ‘before’ shot – you can see how far the garden has come!)
