On 12 & 13 Jan BSL Instructor Nikki and Occupational Therapist/Registered Sign Language Interpreter Sarah hosted our first Family Sign Language Weekend of the year!

Our weekends are free to friends and all family members of a deaf child, as well as professionals who may work with deaf children. They are paid for through fundraising and follow the National Deaf Children’s Society accredited Family Sign Language workshop.

Particpants learned basic signs, fingerspelling, useful phrases and Deaf Awareness with Nikki. Our younger attendees took part in a separate workshop with Sarah where they played games, enjoyed crafts, and learned how to sign their favourite animals.

The weekend was fun, interactive and open to all ages. Thank you to Interpreters Lulu and Vanessa for providing BSL interpretation for the event.

We will be taking bookings for our May 2019 Family Sign Language Weekend soon.  More details can be found here.
