We had a busy day at the Exeter Deaf Academy stand at City Lit Deaf Day 2018!

Assistant Principal Mark Stocks and OT Sarah Ankers attended, and met lots people at our stand including former students Rebecca Hunt and Alex Miller. Alex is now studying art at college and volunteering.

Former student Ahmed Ali also visited our stand to tell us about his successful signing business.

Arran Masterman works for the National Deaf Children’s Society and Sarah Muir volunteers for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Mark and Sarah also caught up with our friends from other deaf schools including Blanche Nevile School, Frank Barnes School for Deaf Children, Hamilton Lodge School & College, as well dropping in on interesting talks and workshops.

Sarah said:
‘The best bits of the day were meeting up with former students and making connections with other groups/agencies that could support our students with future employment and success. Positive deaf empowerment!’
