We were recently lucky enough to receive a gift of £5000 from Devon Freemasons.
After Ian Kingsbury, the Provincial Grand Master of Devonshire Freemasons, was invited to a talk about our relocation to Exmouth, he applied for a grant to fund equipment for our students.
The cash will be used buy play, sports and electronic equipment for use now, and that can be transferred to the new school, at the Exmouth Rolle College site.
A spokesman for the Freemasons said: “While on a visit to the House of Lords, Ian Kingsbury was inspired by a presentation given by Steve Morton, director of development for the Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education, outlining the academy’s aims and development plans for the future academy, which is to be relocated to a new site in Exmouth.”
We’re very grateful for the generous gift – students Nissi and Oliver (pictured) were excited to discuss which equipment we should spend it on! A big thank you to Ian Kingsbury and his colleagues.
